Juvenile Bald Eagle

Salthaven bald eagle painting

After Brian Salt's presentation to the B.&A.H.S. he kindly sent me several pictures to interpret. The one that most tugged at me, was the picture of a juvenile bald eagle that the center had nursed back to health. The picture was taken just as he was released back into the wild, and he's doing what looks like a victory roll.

I chose to place him against a clear sky and golden sun, symbolic of the freedom and rich life ahead of him, all thanks to the dedicated folks at Salthaven . This painting will be up for bids at their fundraiser Charity Dinner, February 24, 2010
"A charity dinner benefiting Salthaven is being hosted by Jeve's Pet Care on Wednesday February 24 at 6:00PM - 9:30PM at Waldo's on King in London.

It seems that February is going to be a busy month, as the calls for submission just keep coming in. Picking and choosing which ones to go into is always hard, if you're anything like me, you want to do it all! I/you/we can't of course, for one thing the entry fees can be over whelming, I know of at lest one show that has priced it's self out of reach for many artists, one? actually there are several. So when opportunities like the Arts Project 'Art Fart-salon in a saloon' and the 'Time Share for charity' come along we/I/you jump on them. So after that tease... I'm going to sign off, but stay 'tuned' for more details will soon follow.
