Colourful Contemporary Art

I am a professional artist and art teacher.
I paint the tenacious bits of wild that defy human activity in a manner inspired by
my fascination with fossils and designed to make the viewer look deeper.
Studio visits by luck or by appointment are welcome.

And... off to the Art Exchange we go

It's amazing what you can get done when you're sufficiently motivated. I not only got one more painting ready for the squarefoot show, I got two done, aaaannnnd when I took them in they took all three pieces.
I realized something today, I'm inspired by textures in fossils, which I've always been facinated by -and also- the textures in my quilt collection. I've spent hours tracing the whorls and waves in those quilts with my finger tips as I drift off to sleep.
These two paintings are more about the textures and patterns than the images, and that's where my bliss lies, for now anyway.
